This Privacy Policy explains how Weight Owl (“we”, “our”, or “the App”) collects, uses, and protects your information. We built Weight Owl with a strict privacy-first philosophy: your health data belongs to you, and it stays on your device.

  1. Data Collection and Storage Weight Owl is a standalone, offline-first application. We do not maintain, own, or rent remote servers to store your personal data.

All health and fitness data you enter into Weight Owl—including weight, body fat percentage, lean body mass, notes, and preferences—is stored locally on your device’s internal storage. We do not transmit, sell, or share this data with any external databases, analytics trackers, or third-party advertisers.

  1. Android Health Connect Integration Weight Owl integrates with Android Health Connect to provide a seamless, synchronized dashboard of your health metrics.

What we access: With your explicit permission, the App reads and writes specific data types to Health Connect, including: Weight, Body Fat Percentage, Lean Body Mass, Steps, and Sleep Sessions.

How we use it: This data is used strictly to display historical trends, calculate averages, and render visual graphs within the App’s dashboard.

Limited Use Disclosure: Weight Owl’s use of information received from Health Connect will adhere strictly to the Health Connect Permissions Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Health Connect data for advertising, nor do we sell or share it with data brokers.

  1. App Permissions and Features Biometric Authentication: If you enable the privacy lock feature, Weight Owl uses your device’s native Android Biometric API (Fingerprint/Face Scan). The App only receives a “success” or “fail” signal from the Android operating system. We do not collect, view, or store your actual biometric data.

Local File Access: The App may require local file access solely for the purpose of exporting your health data to a CSV/PDF or importing a backup.

  1. Third-Party Services Weight Owl uses the Google Play Billing Library to process optional one-time in-app purchases (such as unlocking “Pro” features). Google Play manages this secure transaction completely. Weight Owl does not collect, process, or have access to your credit card information, billing address, or financial details.

  2. Data Retention and Deletion Because your data is stored exclusively on your device and within Android Health Connect, you have full control over its lifecycle.

You can delete specific logs directly within the Weight Owl app.

You can delete all App data by uninstalling the app or clearing the App’s data in your Android Settings.

You can manage or revoke Weight Owl’s access to external health data at any time via the Android Health Connect settings.

  1. Children’s Privacy Weight Owl is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with information without their consent, they should delete the app from the child’s device.

  2. Changes to this Privacy Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy.
